FIRST CANADIAN-SERBIAN BUSINESS FORUM – CURRENT STATE OF ECONOMIC COOPERATION BETWEEN SERBIA AND CANADA
Current state of economic cooperation between Serbia and Canada:
BELGRADE – Serbia is on a good path in reform implementation and has laid good foundations for long-term development, experts of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) – which predicts a minimal 0.5 percent economic growth for Serbia in 2015 – said on Wednesday.
On December 30th 2014, the new Energy Law came into force in the Republic of Serbia. As a consequence, the definition of small buyers of electricity has been amended so, in order to be considered as small buyers, a legal entity or entrepreneur shall have the total annual income of up to 10 million EUR in RSD, all of their facilities shall be connected to the distribution system less than 1 kV, and their total electricity consumption in the previous year shall be less than 30.000,00 kWh. All of those who do not comply with the requirements of the new provisions shall loose the right to guaranteed supply as from July 1st 2015. The households and small buyers are guaranteed supply under the reasonable, transparent and non-discriminatory prices. Pursuant to the new Energy Law, regulated price of electricity may be cancelled depending on the regulator’s report which is to be published not later than by May 1st 2017.

CANSEE participated in the networking event for the forty participants of the LEADER Project, the program’s alumni and for representatives of Macedonian companies and FDI’s in Skopje, May 7th, 2015, hosted by Macedonia2025.
This event was attended by 40 members of the CANSEE, including the members of the CANSEE Board of Directors. Guests of Honor were H.E. Philip Pinnington, the Canadian Ambassador to Serbia, and Ms. Djurdja Ceramilac, Trade Commissioner at the Embassy of Canada in Serbia. The Mayor of Apatin, Mr. Zivorad Smiljanic, also joined this great event.
During the visit to MAGNA SEATING, we have been presented with the impressive production facility of that company which is producing covers and other components for car seats for Smart, Skoda, Renault and Ford at this factory.
The Ambassador of Canada to Serbia, His Excellency Philip Pinnington, Embassy of Canada Trade Commissioner, Ms. Durda Ceramilac and CANSEE – Canadian Serbian Business Association attended the very finish of filming the movie “Born Dead” in Bezdan, near Sombor, on May 27, 2015.
CANSEE attended the promotion of the second edition of the magazine”Bratstvo Milicevici: Sloga Brace izvor srece” (Brotherhood Milicevici: The united brothers, the source of happiness”) as well as the second edition of the book “Nikola Milicevic Lunjevica” by the author Ivan Pavlovic. The promotion was held in Press center in Belgrade on Tuesday, June 5, 2015, attended by a number of brotherhood members, their friends and admirers.
At the 4th International Festival of plums and fruit brandies in Ugljevik in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the exhibition of competitive character, company Stara Sokolova won two new awards for quality, according to the announcement from Stara Sokolova.
