We are happy to invite you to a Business Speed Meeting jointly organized by CANSEE Canadian Serbian Business Association, AmCham Serbia, French Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Nordic Business Alliance in Serbia, to be held on Monday, April 15, from 14:00 hours in partnership with Radisson Collection Hotel, Old Mill Belgrade.

Embassy of Canada to Serbia together with the CANSEE organized a Canadian-Serbian Business Networking Cocktail at the Pantages Hotel Toronto. The aim of the event was to present Serbia as a good place to invest; strengthen and improve bilateral trade and economic relations, reinforce contacts, and make Canada and Serbia stronger economic partners. CANSEE is pleased to announce an open call for participants for the LEADER Project Serbia 2019. The available space in this fully sponsored business course is limited to 40 participants. The Richard Ivey Business School from the University of Western Ontario, Canada has been organizing international LEADER Projects since 1991 and this course is currently held in eight countries around the world. Each course is a ten day MBA-styled workshop that is designed to provide entrepreneurs with the skills that can be used to develop business ideas and help found new start-up companies.

CANSEE GENERAL ASSEMBLY SESSION AND CANSEE WINE&CHEESE BUSINESS NETWORKING COCKTAIL HELD AT THE MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART IN BELGRADE

CANSEE Canadian Serbian Business Association organized regular General Assembly Session followed by Wine&Cheese Business Networking Cocktail, on the occasion of five successful years of running the Association at the amazing newly renovated Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade.

More than 100 CANSEE partners and friends attended this event in the amazing newly renovated venue of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade. The guests were able to see the extraordinary exhibition “On the Road around the World. Art from Germany “, works of art from the collection of the Institute for International Relations in Culture (IFA) from 1949 to the present. In addition, the event was sponsored by Delta Motors company, that showed its two beautiful BMW 3 Series vehicles for the first time.

On January 21, Delta Holding welcomed the seventh generation of Young Leaders. This year, Delta will employ in its companies a total number of thirty-eight young, educated people who have been selected among more than a thousand candidates, in several rounds of selection, in an organized public competition.

Delta Holding announced the purchase of a location for the construction of the Holiday Inn hotel in Ljubljana. This hotel is a brand of IHG Group with which the company has excellent long-term cooperation and which, as our partner, gives its consent to all our locations. The beginning of construction is planned after the completion of legal administrative procedures that are in process.

CANSEE MEMBER NEWS: “Our village” – the new project by Delta Holding

“Our village” is the name of the new Delta Holding’s project through which the company wants to start the development of agriculture in undeveloped areas and restructuring of villages in Serbia. For the beginning, the villages Dubočane and Mala Jasikova in Zaječar area were selected, and the decision was announced to the locals by the president of Delta Holding Miroslav Mišković and the mayor of Zaječar, Boško Ničić.

Bloomberg Businessweek ranked Ivey’s MBA Program the top program in Canada. This is Ivey’s fifth consecutive year in the top spot. Bloomberg’s rankings are based on surveys of recruiters, alumni, and students. Schools are ranked on four indexes: Compensation, Learning, Networking, and Entrepreneurship.

552-CARAT YELLOW DIAMOND FOUND AT CANADA’S DIAVIK DIAMOND MINE NORTHEAST OF YELLOWKNIFE

A diamond pegged to be the largest known gem-quality stone found in North America was discovered at a Northwest Territories mine in October, according to Dominion Diamond Mines. The 552-carat yellow diamond was found at Diavik Diamond Mine, according to a company news release.

CANSEE attended 18th Serbian Economic Summit

TGI Group International, (under the auspices of the Union of Employers of Serbia, the Association of Business Women of Serbia, the Foreign Investors Council and the Confindustria Association) organized the 18th Economic Summit of Serbia held on October 22nd and 23rd, 2018, in Belgrade. Among the eminent participants in the program of this year’s Summit was Minister of Foreign Affairs Republic of Serbia Ivica Dačić and other representatives of Government, H.E. Kati Csaba Ambassador of Canada to Serbia, H.E. Kyle Scott Ambassador of United States to Serbia.

REMEMBRANCE DAY COMMONWEALTH CEREMONY IN BELGRADE

Canada hosted the Commonwealth Remembrance Day service in Belgrade on November 11, 2018, the one hundredth anniversary of the World War I armistice. Serbia and Canada fought as allies in a war which caused tremendous losses, including one quarter of Serbia’s population. The memory of these who gave their lives to national service is marked each year in Belgrade’s Commonwealth War Cemetery.

EMPOWERING WOMEN AFA LEADERSHIP SUMMIT HELD IN BELGRADE

Another AFA Women’s Leadership Summit was held on October 31 and November 1 in Belgrade. This year’s theme of the summit was “Innovative leadership in unpredictable fast changing world” and also dealt with gender equality due to technological advancement and economic empowerment of women. The Summit brought together leading experts from various fields, representatives of the state summit, diplomatic missions and the non-governmental sector.

8th International Conference on Mineral Resources held in Belgrade on Nov 13-14 gathered representatives of government, local municipalities, diplomacy, private sector and NGOs. The exchange of information and knowledge on current situation with mining projects in Serbia and the region, as well as future progress of mining industry created general impression that mining is becoming strong source of economic growth of Serbia.
