In January 2020 the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of a new coronavirus disease in Hubei Province, China to be a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. WHO stated there is a high risk of the 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) spreading to other countries around the world. WHO and public health authorities around the world are taking action to contain the COVID-19 outbreak. However, long term success cannot be taken for granted. All sections of our society – including businesses and employers – must play a role if we are to stop the spread of this disease.

CANSEE is honored to have sponsored and organized the 2nd Serbian Ministerial trip to PDAC 2020, Toronto, Canada with the great support of our CANSEE mining and geological industry group members. During this highly respected and world’s largest mining convention, the Serbian Ministerial Delegation headed by Honorable Minister Aleksandar Antic had an opportunity to meet key Canadian government officials, present the Serbian mining potentials and opportunities for future investors. As a result of this visit the Honorable Minister Antic was able to give an interview with promising facts about the mining and geological situation in Serbia during PDAC to the prominent Mining Journal and we are very glad to share it with you.
CANSEE organized Business Networking Cocktail on Sunday, March 1, 2020, in Toronto at the amazing Montecito Restaurant with the aim of gathering Canadian and Serbian business diaspora contacts, and expanding business opportunities in Canada during the leading voice of the mineral exploration and development community PDAC 2020 (The Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada). The main objective was to encourage business cooperation and to promote trade and economic development between two friendly countries all with great support from CANSEE Members and the Embassy of Canada in Belgrade.
Mirjana Doncic Beaton, Executive Director of the CANSEE Canadian-Serbian Business Association, together with the President of the Association, Aleksandar Obrenovic, the Ministerial Delegation of the Ministry of Mining and Energy led by Minister Aleksandar Antic, State Secretary Stevica Dedjanski and Assistant Minister Ivan Jankovic, as well as the representatives of the Embassy of Canada to Serbia visited for the second time in a row, the PDAC 2020 Convention, the largest international trade fair and mining convention held from March 1-4 in Toronto.
