CANSEE Canadian-Serbian Business Association in cooperation with the Embassy of Canada and Powered by CANSEE Member TEKNOXGROUP organized the very first Ice Skating Matinée at Tašmajdan Ice Rink on January 29, 2022 in Belgrade.
The opening speech was held by Ms. Mirjana Doncic who welcomed the guests and thanked Teknoxgroup, CANSEE valuable member, for their generous support and initiative to host such a wonderful humanitarian event, as well as the Embassy of Serbia who also supported the initiative. She stated that CANSEE has been working with its members since 2014 to boost economic relations between Canada and Serbia, and believe that solidarity and philanthropy are an integral part of a better and more responsible life for all members of the community. She is proud of the achieved results in improving economic relations, as well as in the promotion and exchange of Canadian education through the LEADER Project, which will be held for the sixth time from May 9 to 20 in Belgrade.
In the spirit of giving and the Christmas tradition, this year CANSEE has supported NURDOR, Cika Boca and children without parental care through the Fond Princeze Jelisavete. Continuing the mission to help others, the Humanitarian Ice Skating event is intended to raise funds for the most vulnerable and the youngest in this case the Association of Single Parents and Families of Children with Disabilities “Plava Skoljka”, an association founded on Christmas 2010 whose main goal is to understand, support and provide professional assistance to families whose children have disabilities. They gather members from all over Serbia, and more than half of the members are single mothers. For the last 6 years, they have been working on their largest project so far – HOUSE OF HOPE in Banja Koviljača to provide free accommodation and therapy to families of children with disabilities who are not entitled to rehabilitation but greatly benefit from it.
This successful humanitarian event gathered CANSEE valuable members, partners, friends and kids that ice-skated for a great cause all while having some fun on ice and enjoying hot chocolate and cookies.
